From the outset the Buizen 48' was conceived as being the ultimate in Australian offshore pleasure cruising. Eddy Buizen's vision was as ambitious as it was clear, to build a state-of-the-art pilothouse yacht which would deliver the best of both worlds, sail and power. The Buizen 48 is a craft which, despite its size, could be easily handled by a couple without extra crew. The Buizen 48 is a large and luxurious yacht which would give its owners the freedom to come and go as they pleased.

The spacious deck saloon, just two steps down from the cockpit, is the heart of the living area. Here you can sit comfortably in the deeply padded lounge in an atmosphere enhanced by the softness of the tinted safety glass windows and the deep glow of the handcrafted teak timberwork.

The strongly supported masthead rig features an in-boom furler with electric/hydraulic drive. The Genoa also furls away in a matter of seconds. Electric/hydraulic powered winches take the hard work out of sheeting home the headsail and up for'ard a heavy duty electric anchor winch raises and lowers the anchor.
