Couta Boat 26\' "Sea Rover"
This Timber classic Couta Boat Designed and built in 1923 by renowned Melbourne designer and builder J B Jones, for the then General Manager of the Port Jackson and Manly Steamship company , Mr Walter Dendy.
Dendy quoted in an article published in the Sunday News, "that the boats were renowned for thier handiness, speed, seaworthiness and comfort for cruising" "what is not well known ",he added, " is that they were "built on the lines of the Queenscliff fishing vessels" She was extensively raced competitively by Dendy over many years, and won many Trophy\'s.
Having been through an extensive and meticulous refit she is looking her best !
Sea Rover has a full set of covers that keep this authentic Day Boat sweet.
Her Nanni 3 Cylinder 22.5 HP Diesel engine has also been through a complete reconditioning in April 2015 She is ready to step aboard and and take you back in history.
Fresh paint on the decks, hull sides and Below waterline. Not much to do except get out there and enjoy this master built piece of Nautical History.
